Designed for use on FX-format Nikon DSLRs, the 105mm f1.4 can also be mounted on DX-format cameras, on which it will provide an equivalent focal length of 157.5mm. The Silent Wave Motor provides fast, quiet and smooth autofocus, so you can capture your subjects in a flash but not cause a disturbance to your surroundings. Full-time manual focus override is possible for when you want to get hands-on and make your own critical adjustments, while the fact that focusing is internal allows the lens to remain consistently portable.
